The Ministry of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing has launched a pilot program called the Seniors Home Security Program in Prince Albert.

The program will provide free home security devices to single senior citizens who earn $20,000 or less a year; senior couples who earn $30,000 or less a year; or to seniors who have been victims of a break-in.

The pilot will run in Prince Albert for the next six months and, if it proves to be successful, the Seniors Home Security Program will be implemented province-wide.

The Seniors Home Security Program is a program of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing (CPSP).  Its aim is to help low-income senior citizens or seniors who have been the victims of a break-in or other property crime where they live increase the safety of their homes.
