The Office of the Fire Commissioner provides Saskatchewan communities, fire departments and emergency management organizations with programs and services that:

  • protect people, property and the environment from fire;
  • build local community capacity to respond to emergencies; and
  • enhance public safety across the province.

The OFC provides programs in: fire service and emergency management training; fire service certification; fire investigation and reporting; public education in fire safety and emergency preparedness; technical services; and emergency operational response.

The OFC also manages the Sask911 system and the Provincial Public Safety Telecommunications Network.

The OFC helps communities improve their ability to respond to emergencies.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner offers a variety of training courses for members of fire departments and emergency management organizations. Courses are offered at locations around the province to help people in local authorities build capacity in fire protection and emergency preparedness.
